I have done two boudoir shoots with Jewel Boudoir prior to our couple’s shoot. The first was for Charles (my significant other) and encompassed my softer, elegant side. I felt comfortable getting mostly nude and showing that I had confidence building. The second shoot was more for me and encompassed my love of horror, gore, and Halloween. That shoot made me feel more confident in the true me that I don’t always show others. When I saw the opportunity for a couples shoot, I JUMPED. I fully knew that I felt so much more confident in who I was as a person and wanted Charles to feel the same. During COVID and the winter months, we started to feel worse about ourselves. I knew that this would be extremely helpful for him. The car ride up to the studio was filled with questions about what would look best on him and what the “typical” man would wear to look sexy. I explained that sexy is how you feel and not necessarily what you see, because to be honest, he didn’t have a lot of GQ clothes laying around. We brought his nice suit and the best fitting pair of boxers and they turned out great! He is obsessed with the very first picture he took, because it showed him being himself laughing and trying to “figure it all out”. I’ve learned that “figuring it all out” truly brings out the you that is meant to be seen in photos. The you that you don’t typically get to see, but everyone else around you can love. Get in front of the camera, laugh, smile, be vulnerable, timid, anxious, anything! As long as it is YOU! I can guarantee you will find at least one photo that makes your heart melt knowing that it is uniquely you (but trust me you will find more). He was anxious, but he transformed his fidgeting hands and anxious half smile into something beautiful that he hadn’t seen before. He felt comfortable and confident in his skin after seeing the first few shots and only got better from there. We were confused together, but honestly the laughter of confusion made for a better storyline of pictures and a better experience!
