Believe it or not, I have quite a few potential clients get in touch with me to say they’re interested in doing a boudoir session, but that lingerie just isn’t their thing. Well, as a professional boudoir photographer, I’m here to tell you that lingerie and boudoir don’t always come hand-in-hand. There are SO many other sexy options out there to highlight your assets and I’ve gathered just a few of my favorites into one list for you to use when planning your shoot.
1| Pair a sexy bra with your favorite jeans
This option is the perfect compromise if you’re looking to step out of your comfort zone and wear lingerie to your session, but don’t want to bare it all. One of my favorite looks is pairing jeans with a bodysuit—it shows off your sexy shape without showing a ton of skin.
2| Aim for luxury in a silk robe
When you want a mysterious, luxurious feel to your photos without compromising on the sex appeal, a silk robe is the way to go. It will cling to you in all the right places without showing any more skin than you’d like to.
3| Make a statement with a graphic tee
We want your personality to shine through in these photos, and what better way to show it off than with a t-shirt featuring something you love. Do you or your partner have a favorite sports team? Are you into a retro band? Is there a cause you stand for? Trust me, none of these things have ever looked sexier than when you pair them with cute underwear for your session.
4| Keep it classic with a little black dress
There’s a reason this wardrobe staple has never gone out of style—it’s timeless and looks great on everyone! Paired with a killer heel and some great jewelry, the LBD will give your photos a sophisticated, yet sexy feel.
5| Release your inner bad girl with a leather jacket
Do you want to look sexy, but still be somewhat covered up? Spring for a leather jacket with nothing underneath. It leaves a lot to the imagination and makes you look like the bad ass babe that you are.
6| Steal something from your partner’s closet
Imagine the look on your partner’s face when they see your gallery…and see you in their shirt! A beautiful woman in a men’s button down makes for some of the sexiest boudoir images. The next time he wears it to work, I’m willing to bet he’ll have a little trouble concentrating.
7| Wear nothing at all
If none of these outfits sound right for you, there’s always the option of wearing nothing at all. Lots of my clients choose to pose with a bedsheet that gives the impression of full nude, whether they actually are or not.
